upcoming development

I want to start having daily updates i.e. New Releases again. I think the Trak improvements listed below is a good start to that. Additionally we have large gaps in the archive as a result of being inactive that need to be filled. I plan on recruiting more staff members in the near future. Most likely after work on the Trak has been finished.

I need to upgrade the lurk website from rails 2.3.8 to 3.0. This shouldn't be too hard but with such things you can always expect some problems. After I get this done I want to focus on Trak improvements. Things like being able to upload more than one file at a time, making it easier to edit upload information and just making it smoother. Then I want to add archival functions to the Trak like repacks, corrupt files, removing files and etc. I think getting these things done would be the first major push on the website.

So here is a basic outline of what needs to be done.

Short Term

• upgrade rails to 3.0
• major Trak improvements
• add archival functions to Trak (repack, corrupt, remove)

Longer Term (in no particular order)

• allow comments to the donation page
• user avatars
• more user information
• allow users to queue files from the website
  
• rewrite the bots
